Les Roches is pleased to announce the launch of a new Master of Science program, the MS in Hospitality Leadership. This MS degree is specifically geared towards people who aim to pursue a career beyond management to become industry leaders, people who shape the industry itself.
Les Roches has 92 nationalities represented on campus, students who carry out practical and real-world assignments together, and learn one of the biggest challenges in the hospitality service sector: working with people of other cultures to achieve objectives.
LEADERSHIP -LEARNT NOT GIVEN
This MS degree is aimed at students aged 21 and above. It is developed in close collaboration with key figures from the hospitality industry who have identified the need to equip a new generation of leaders. One such consultant is Johnathan Perks, long-time leadership consultant to major CEOs, who in this video outlines some key aspects of leadership.
It is a common misconception that leadership is something people are born with, something people either have or don’t have. This is not true. As with any other quality or skill, leadership can be taught and learnt.
Hospitality leaders need to learn the skills required to navigate a constantly and rapidly evolving global economy. They need to be able to steer a sector that is highly sensitive to issues as diverse as climate change, currency devaluations, technological advancement, and changing consumer earning and spending power trends.
MS DEGREE PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
The Master of Science will address the concept of leadership from a number of organizational perspectives:
